BKB Pinnacle Fibres is currently seeking a Financial Manager who will be responsible for the Financial Management of the business and manage the financial department according to sound financial systems, practices and processes that are compliant with relevant legislation and meet principles of international best practices and will allow the organisation to achieve its strategic and financial objectives. 

The successful incumbent will be stationed in Gqeberha and will report directly to the General Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BCom (Hon) degree with accounting or equivalent qualification
  • CA / SAIPA is recommended

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 1-2 years’ experience as Accountant or Middle Management Financial position.
  • Export Sales
  • Knowledge of Forex trade and hedge accounting
  • Knowledge of International Financial Standards
  • Knowledge of South African tax regulations.


COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of General Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Knowledge of Internal Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS ROLE:

Financial Management

  • Develop and maintain financial accounting processes and procedures
  • Implement and maintain sound internal controls
  • Oversee the management accounting and internal control processes and procedures
  • Identify financial accounting risks and develop and implement mitigating strategies
  • Attend to audit queries
  • Cash flow management and Weekly Cash flow Forecasts

 Accurate Accounting Practices

  • Monthly review of general ledger to ensure the correct accounting of financial data
  • Verify the general Ledger, accruals, and control accounts
  • Statutory returns (i.e., VAT, PAYE, SDL, and IT)
  • Posting journals
  • Maintain the asset register

 Budgeting and Forecasting

  • Establish and maintain a budgeting system and assist with setting up the planning parameters
  • Manage and control the annual planning and budgeting process
  • Prepare the budget
  • Interface and train users regularly regarding budget control and variance reports
  • Quarterly forecasts
  • Weekly Cashflow Forecasts

 Co-ordination with Auditors

  • Providing external and internal auditors with information to assist in the audit process
  • Responding to issues identified in external and internal auditor’s report to management
  • Ensuring compliance of accounting policies with IFRS in conjunction with group financial manager

 Debtors Management

  • Ensure accurate monthly debtors analysis
  • Manage all long outstanding debtors with the management team
  • Provide monthly debtors comments to the AgriFin & credit committee
  • Monthly provisioning of allowance for doubtful debt in accordance with IFRS 9

 Due Diligence

  • To perform due diligences on business to be acquired
  • To build financials models for valuation purposes
  • To provide inputs on business valuations
  • To keep complete due diligence records

 
Financial Reporting

  • Responsible for preparation, collation and interpretation of:
    • Monthly management reports
    • Annual Financial Statements
  • Reserve Bank reporting

Inventory Management

  • Maintain and build controls for inventory held on and off site
  • Optimise Inventory ageing
  • Optimise Inventory valuation


Leadership

  • Manage the section within time and budget and provide technical direction
  • Identify and timeously address functional related problems and opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationship with all stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements

Taxation
