The incumbent would provide an efficient maintenance support service through the successful implementation, managing and carrying out of breakdowns, changeovers, implementation of an effective preventative maintenance programme, control and direct the activities of subordinates and external contractors to ensure the smooth and efficient daily operation of all machines and services for production. This involves implementing, managing and carrying out: breakdowns, changeovers, preventative maintenance, safety requirements, product development initiatives, budget control and productivity savings initiatives. Also to draft and maintain the critical spares list.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma in electrical engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with electrical and instrumentation systems
• Grade II Trade Test Certification as an electrician or an instrumentation technician will be an added advantage.

Knowledge

• Good understanding of PLC, OHS Act and Food Safety
• Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrumentation schematics and diagrams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
